The Ensemble

This ensemble symbolizes my journey and style while honoring India's rich craft heritage. I chose Ambar Chakra fabrics, hand-spun, handwoven, and naturally dyed using traditional techniques.

The cropped jacket, crafted from naturally dyed Kala Cotton from Kutch, Gujarat, features Couching and Kantha stitches that outline the boundaries of Mumbai and Manhattan, reflecting my journey. The trousers use handwoven Linen-Cotton fabric sourced from Murshidabad, West Bengal.

The Makers

This ensemble is a testament to the craft and love of the incredible artisans at Lafaani. Shahid Ji, the master tailor, dedicated 8 hours to cutting and stitching. Jyoti Ji, one of Lafaani's most experienced members, invested 28 hours in the intricate embroidery and finishing touches. Reena Ji added the final touches, spending an hour on buttons, labels, and trimming threads. It's an honor to wear this ensemble, crafted by such talented hands.
